The Globiles team are an eclectic and talented bunch based over at our Madrid HQ. You can identify us in the community by the orange "g" next to our names.

  • Andrew Stott - Founder

    The Globiles concept was born three years ago after Andrew moved back to Europe from Asia. His relocation inspired him to create a tool which used the power of the Internet to diffuse collective knowledge between other global and mobile souls. After years as a leading consultant at the top of his game, Andrew's main passion is simple - giving back. His objective is to nurture other young entrepreneurs, helping them grow and finance new business ideas.

    Globiles is also a way to ensure that he and his peers' experience can be tapped into, and act as the compass that guides new generations as they set out to make their mark on the world.

    Andrew is English on paper and Spanish by heart. He currently lives in Madrid with his family.

  • Ollie Stott - Designer & Artistic Director

    Favourite expression: I plant seeds... I can't explain it!! - Jeff Goldblum to Joey, Friends

    An artist by talent and training, Ollie has been one of the masterminds behind the logo, look and feel of www.globiles.com. His creative juices aside, perhaps Ollie's biggest talent is his ability to work for his own father without losing his cheerful and optimistic outlook. He has his own design website (www.oliverdesigns.com) and lives in London.

  • Andrea Maltman - Content & Community Manager

    Favourite corner of the earth: The stunning view from the ferry as you approach the Faraglioni in Capri, Italy.

    Favourite expression: Haar op je tanden from Dutch translates as someone with "hair on their teeth" and means that person is assertive.

    Originally from bonnie Scotland but now resident in Madrid, Andrea is our Community Manager and Content Editor, so it's her job to interview members, write articles and generally keep thousands of globiles spread over seven continents happy. As a journalist with over four years of experience writing for established media brands like the BBC, she still wears fake glasses in the office to ensure her intelligent, professional persona is complete.

  • Mari Luz Garcia - Business & Commercial Manager

    Favourite corner of the earth: Changes frequently. Current favourite place must be ice climbing the Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentina with trusty crampons.

    Favourite expression: dream, explore, discover

    This third culture kid was raised in Amsterdam and landed in Madrid via Barcelona and Paris. Her first comment when she sat down for her job interview? "I am a globile!"- and she wasn't wrong. "The tenacious one" is responsible for running the overall business development of Globiles, she has endless energy in finding potential members and social partners for the community. She writes her own personal blog in Dutch (www.casa-archidona.com) on her experiences as a true globile.

  • Mariano Klein - Chief Technology Officer

    Favourite corner of the earth: San Francisco

    Favourite expression: It's working!

    Photogenic Argentine Mariano is the architect of Globiles' brand new site. He is a fan of San Francisco, has won awards for Internet design and set up his own site to democratise web development (www.myegoo.com). He is a founding partner of the Spanish web design community, Domestika. He currently splits his time between Madrid and California.

  • Roberto Rebollo - Head Programmer

    Closet rock star Roberto's singing ensures Globiles HQ is always kept entertained with his version of classics hits like Bohemian Rhapsody. Away from the mic, he is the inspired programmer behind of the new version of globiles.com. He's the first in the office each day, and after his schedule returns to normal after launch, is also looking forward to being the first out again.

  • Florence van Caillie - Marketing Manager

    Favourite corner of the earth: Little Corn Island, in Nicaragua

    Favourite expression: Souris a la vie et la vie te souriras (Smile at life and life will smile back to you)

    Florence arrived in Madrid from her native Brussels via Barcelona and New Orleans armed with blonde ambition and four languages (She speaks French, Dutch, English and Spanish) She has become one of the driving forces behind helping globiles access interesting job opportunities. She draws on her experience in marketing with L'Oréal to help make Globiles a commercial success.
